Women’s Celtic Sports Festival

Tir Conaill Harps GAC is delighted to announce the annual feile na mBan (Glasgow Women’s Celtic Sports Festival) at Jimmy McGrory Park and Glenconner Park, in the city’s Garngad area on the 3rd to 5th Oct 2008.

The festival theme is to raise the profile of women’s gaelic sports both within the Harps club and also to the wider Glasgow community. Included for the first time will be a unique International match with the current Scotland ladies shinty team taking on a select team of the visiting camogie players from Ireland in a compromise rules game. There is also an adult gaelic football, camogie tournament and schools gaelic football tournament. Those with an interest in coaching will also get the opportunity to be instructed by top coaches form Ireland in football, hurling and camogie and children interested in having a go at any of the sports will have the opportunity to do so. The festival wouldn’t be complete without the Hooley which returns to Drummonds in the heart of the city centre. Music this year is provided by the very popular young Glasgow Irish celtic rock band The Amadhains Ticket details and outlets will be announced shortly.
